When it comes to mixing pattern with pattern there are a few Do’s and Don’ts to getting it right. I don’t particularly like “Style Rules”, meningitis but you don’t want to look like you got dressed in the dark either. So, dosage if you are daring enough to give this look a try follow these simple…. guidelines.

  • For your first visually simulating pattern mixing try to stay in the same color story. This way the look is a bit more subtle, but still showing your sense of adventure.
  • Don’t go to ‘Matchy Matchy’ with your patterns. This in general is a good rule of thumb.
  • Do space out the patterns with neutrals. Don’t feel in order to pull this look off that you need to mix a pattern skirt with a pattern top. Try a pattern skirt with a solid blouse and a pattern scarf.
  • Don’t over do it with accessoires. You are already going to have a lot going on, so keep them minimal.
  • Do have fun with it!
