Tried and True – Six flattery rules

by kristy

Below you will find six universal rules that flatter all body types and make you appear 10 pounds thinner.

Wearing a V-neck lengthens your neck and shows off one of the most sexiest parts of a women, opisthorchiasis the collarbone.

Dressing head to toe in one color is the easiest slimming trick of all time. Most women think this only works with all black, but give other tones a try.

Show off your curves! Don’t hide under shapeless bulky clothing that make you appear bigger than you are.

Invest in a good bra that really supports you. Pay attention to hanging to low, tightness in the back and “hang over” on the top which is one of the most common. Everything you put on will look better!

Belt everything! When you belt at your smallest part you can create an instant hour glass effect. The thickness of the belt is determined by the length of you torso. A medium sized, as opposed to thick and super thin, is a universal option.

Buy clothes that you can move in. We all see those ladies walking about the street tugging at their skirt, or the look of panic on a women’s face when you realizes that she can’t sit down in her outfit. Also, when you are comfortable AND look good you can focus on other matters better.

Looks to Keep

by kristy

It’s nearly impossible to pick a favorite look that Giovanna Battaglia has put together. She has this way about her where it looks like she just threw it on and walked out the door. Gio’s inimitable sense of color and mixing glam and casual inspires millions. There has been plenty of times where I can’t figure out what to wear and i’ll try to emulate one of her looks. The fist two segments of photos show how she impeccably took a skirt from spring/summer to fall/winter . Same with her shirt dress. She is a great example of how layers can change the look of one piece completely. Oh the things that I would do to get even 30 minutes in her closet…..

Fall fashion for 2012 verdict is in. Fortunately for your wallets and sanity some pieces from seasons past are still going strong. Here are a few pieces that you may already have in your wardrobe that you can mix and match to create new “in style” looks with.

One of my favorite fabris from my child hood is Velvet. This season you can find it on skirts, medical blazers, for sale dresses and more.

Mostly in vibrant colors “south western” prints are a great way to add some color and/or print to any outfit.

Comfortable and fashionable. Channel your inner Hugh Hefner but minus the robe. Wear with denim or a dress.

Plaids remain on shirts, case jackets, blazers and skirts.

Day clutches are a easy way to dress up an outfit without over doing it.

Hands free carryall. The cross body bag is cute and convenient.

Color blocking. Mixing bold colors is fun and stylish.

This chic piece has been a staple for years and will continue to stay in style. Capes are a fun alternative to any fall jacket.

floral pants

Floral remains on the top of the list. Tried and true this feminine print is being carried into the fall/winter. Mix it with masculine pieces like chunky knits or leather.

Peplum

by kristy

It started in the 40’s with Dior placing it on women’s hips every where. Then it made a huge come back in the 80’s. Today, ailment you can find it all over the streets and runways. Peplums. For those of you with a straight, sales  boyish figure the peplum can create the illusion of an hour glass shape.  Now, for those of you that would rather stick pepper flakes in your eyes than add volume to your hips, hear me out. The peplum, if worn a bit higher, can create negative space. And say for example you have a smaller waist and bigger thighs, a peplum will exaggerate your small waist and disguise  your hips also creating a perfect hour glass shape. It also can be your best friend for those dreadful ‘Oh So Not Flat’ stomach dyas. Wear a peplum with a pencil skirt, skinny trousers, jeans or even wide leg pants depending on how long your legs are.

Head Over Heels

by kristy

As someone who detests wearing heels, pharm and mind you I’m only 5’3″ (and a quater) so I should wear heels, dosage I am loving this laid back chic coolness of the unexpected sneaker. I have posted several different ways to try this look. The first couple looks are a bit more “sophisticated” if you will and would be more appropriate for a Casual Friday outfit. The others have more of an about town or going out look to them. I personally wish I could try out the high top and dress look, dosage but unfortunately they make my short legs look stumpy. This look is best for the leggy ladies. Either way, I am all for a look that is put together and sexy AND comfortable to boot.
